Among these contenders are Mallu Nandini, Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy's brother-Ponguleti Prasad Reddy, Tummala Nageswara Rao's son-Tummala Yugender, former Union Minister Renuka Chaudhary, and former MP V Hanumantha Rao. Bhatti Vikramarka, a post-graduate from Hyderabad Central University, who even faced UPSC Civils interviews twice, took the plunge into politics in 2007 with wholehearted support from YSR.

With Vikramarka's career ascending, he was appointed Chief Whip in the Assembly. However, this newfound responsibility meant he could not dedicate ample time to Madhira. This is where Nandini became vital – maintaining constant communication with local party leaders and the cadre when her husband's presence was constrained. Party cadre members affirmed that Nandini was consistently accessible and supportive, alleviating any sense of helplessness even in her husband's absence from town.

With Vikramarka taking on more responsibilities in his new party role, he was re-elected from Madhira in 2014. Once again, Nandini assumed the mantle of responsibility for the campaign, ensuring her husband's success with a majority of 12329 votes in an election where many of his colleagues faltered against TRS candidates. Since then, as Vikramarka emerged as a prominent face of the Opposition, Nandini's duties have only expanded. Remarkably, some party workers even assert that she has more contacts than her husband, knowing every worker and leader in every village. Nandini reportedly dedicates time every week to visit the constituency villages and engage in discussions.

In the 2018 elections, Bhatti Vikramarka secured victory in Madhira, a testament to Nandini's impactful campaign efforts in the constituency. Despite the widespread success of the TRS party in these elections, Vikramarka's assembly seat remained secure with  the dedicated efforts of Nandini.

In the 2023 assembly elections, Nandini embarked on a door-to-door campaign, passionately urging voters to rally behind Vikramarka. She articulately outlined the Congress party's commitment to implementing six guarantees once in power. Accompanying her in this crucial endeavor is her elder son, Surya Vikramadithya, actively contributing to the campaign's success.

Driven by a singular goal—to secure victory for the Congress—Nandini remains focused on her role, avoiding interference in broader political activities and concentrating on overseeing the party cadre. Though she is busy with her political activities and interaction with cadres , she is also involved in various social activities. Her community service with the Amma Foundation is a testament to her dedication towards the poor.Engaging in public services in Khammam district, she has been a catalyst for positive change, resonating with the people through various initiatives.
